How cruel that Henry deliberately kept Queen Katherine & Mary apart, it pains now to hear of this these many years on. Happily that loathsome appelation "Bloody Mary" is being cast aside & she is being properly referred to as Queen Mary Tudor. The ascendant Protestants called her that, out of spite, her reign was no more bloody than the other monarchs, Henry & Elizabeth. These are wonderful "facts" about her. I have also read that she was kindly, with a tendency to see the best in others. Her courage at bearing her plight in life speaks to her noble blood as a descendant of Queen Katherine, plus Ferdinand & Isabella her grandparents.blueeyeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10441067382669806919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5513034568756106415.post-55359261994180501382010-07-10T12:36:44.750-07:002010-07-10T12:36:44.750-07:00I think it is interesting that men were/are always...I think it is interesting that men were/are always surprised when a woman excels at something. Historically, some of Europes most successful monarchs were women. That should have put a kabosh on the whole thing for once and for all.Julygirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08113475639726723076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5513034568756106415.post-84307054058952128432010-06-26T11:51:38.029-07:002010-06-26T11:51:38.029-07:00MmeHistoire, Elizabeth I put her sister's hear...MmeHistoire, Elizabeth I put her sister's heart in a silver chalice?? it's good to know, people thinks that Elizabeth never cared for Mary.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08818234558278944161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5513034568756106415.post-19346913632527600442010-06-16T19:12:12.427-07:002010-06-16T19:12:12.427-07:00Great post! Elizabeth did this! Elizabeth also spent nearly all of the invasion of the Spanish Armada in the upstairs section of the Chapel waiting for news of a hoped upon victory! It was very cool!MmeHistoirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14787155718766833018noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5513034568756106415.post-89439576245776792112010-06-07T17:20:26.948-07:002010-06-07T17:20:26.948-07:00Thank you both for your comments!Thank you both for your comments!little_miss_sunnydalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04834404563322701533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5513034568756106415.post-34688165176691819902010-06-07T13:16:39.542-07:002010-06-07T13:16:39.542-07:00It's nice to know there is more to Mary 1, bes...It's nice to know there is more to Mary 1, besides the bloody side.
